As readers of The Review of Faith & International Affairs know, only recently has the role of religious faith in shaping foreign policy been taken seriously. One can search the scholarly and popular literature before 1995 and find very little on the topic. In recent years, not only has the involvement of religious groups in the foreign policy process increased, but so has recognition of that role by observers and decision makers alike.
