(September/October 2006), acclaimed scholar Walter Russell Mead surveys the foreign policy impact and implications of resurgent American evangelicalism. He commends evangelical efforts on a broad array of issues: global poverty and AIDS, environmental protection, the Darfur genocide, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and religious freedom. The success of the campaign to enact the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 was, according to Mead, "thanks largely to evangelical support."
