A recent HBO documentary, "The Journalist and The Jihadi" retells the story of how Daniel Pearl, South Asia Bureau Chief for the Wall Street Journal, and Omar Sheikh, a highly educated Islamic militant born in the U.K., crossed paths in Pakistan. Sheikh's band of terrorists abducted Mr. Pearl and, believing that the execution of an American, Jewish media figure would be of symbolic significance in their twisted cause, forced him to say "I am a Jew" before beheading him.
