Foreign Christian Organizations and Social Welfare in Asia

Many government and community leaders around the world seek to understand and positively engage Foreign Christian Organizations (FCOs) working in their countries. Greater mutual understanding is needed between these leaders and those who direct FCOs. My experience as a Western Christian working for an FCO in Southeast Asia revealed a distinct need to see national government policies and FCO practices adjusted so that common goals can be achieved. While both sides have many distinctive goals of their own, the goal of working to create peaceful, just, and prosperous societies is one both sides pursue, albeit along parallel tracks.
