Kim Lawton:

Several of you talked about the fact that many of America's congregations certainly are becoming increasingly diverse. And consequently this issue is, in a sense, humanized; it's not just a political issue, but an issue of the people sitting next to you in the pews.

But being a reporter, of course, I want to hear a little more about the controversy. Within your religious communities, your national organizations have taken strong stands for comprehensive immigration reform, but how controversial is this in the pews, amongst the rank and file? Tell me, how significant an argument do you have to make within your communities? I would like to hear from Kevin and at least one of the evangelicals on this.
