James Turner Johnson

Dr. James Turner Johnson is Professor of Religion and Associate of the Graduate Program in Political Science at Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey. His research and teaching have focused principally on the historical development and application of moral traditions related to war, peace, and the practice of statecraft. He has received Rockefeller, Guggenheim, and National Endowment for the Humanities fellowships. His publications include The War to Oust Saddam Hussein (Rowman and Littlefield, 2005), Morality and Contemporary Warfare (Yale, 1999), and The Holy War Idea in Western and Islamic Tradition (Penn State, 1997).
