R. Drew Smith

Dr. R. Drew Smith is Director of the Center for Church and the Black Experience at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and Scholar-in-Residence at the Morehouse College Leadership Center. He is a political scientist who has taught at Indiana University, Butler University, Case Western Reserve University, and the University of Pretoria. He has published widely on American religion and public life, including editing Freedom's Distant Shores: American Protestants and Post-Colonial Alliances with Africa (Baylor, 2006). He also served as guest editor of the Spring 2008 issue of The Review of Faith & International Affairs, on "Black Clergy and U.S. Policy in the Middle East and North Africa" and the Spring 2010 issue, on "African Church Responses to African Conflict."
