Eileen Barker
Dr. Eileen Barker (OBE, FBA) is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the London School of Economics. Her research interests include new religious movements, changes in the religious situation in post-communist societies, the Armenian republic and diaspora, and pluralism in Europe. A prolific author and internationally recognized expert on new religious movements, she is the author of the award-winning The Making of a Moonie (Blackwell, 1984). She is also the founder and chair of the board of INFORM, a registered charity affiliated with LSE.
