John Carlson
Dr. John D. Carlson is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Arizona State University where he also serves as Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict. He is coeditor of, and contributor to, The Sacred and the Sovereign: Religion and International Politics (Georgetown University Press, 2003) and Religion and the Death Penalty: A Call for Reckoning (Eerdmans, 2004) as well as the author of many articles and chapters that have appeared in Journal of Religious Ethics, Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, and Journal of Military Ethics among others. He is also a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve (surface warfare officer).
